Anchor Text Links Policy Change

We have updated our linking policy for anchor text links.

All links in the form of ‘<a href=”mysite.com”>keyword</a> will now have the additional ‘nofollow‘ tag.

This is due to an increase in outgoing links from our site to bad neighborhood sites.

Does this mean search engines will no longer count these as backlinks that help with site ranking?

  4. 4 not willing to submit any more

NO-Follow links are good for articlebase but will not give benefits to our sites and this will definitely hamper the progress in terms of seo. this will serve only the promotion part. I think it will be better if the moderators take the steps to check the sites manually prior to approval. otherway we must have to stop submitting to this site.

    Hi,

It is not possible for us to manually review every site that is linked from in every article.

You are free to contact our support team for a manual review of your sites.

The nofollow tag is the first thing I look for in sample articles before signing up. So much for the incentive to write free articles as a SEO marketing technique. It is very unfortunate.

Rather than “punishing” all the good marketing efforts, why not try to work with google and the other search engines to improve their ranking systems. They profit from good content too.

I hope the sites using the articles don’t use the nofollow tag otherwise it compromises the entire point of writing free articles - may need to revert to paid for articles to compensate.
