Guest Bloggers Ultimate Guide

Guest bloggers are people who post on the higher PR websites or blogs that allow for guest posts. This is a way for content marketing of ones own websites and blogs.

I receive guest posts from guest bloggers each day, but only a part of them finally get approved to publish on my site. I also communicated with some other admins that allow for guest posts on their sites before and have found some common problems.

Guest Bloggers' Common Problems

1. Copied from the other articles on Internet

When I see a guest post, the first thing to do is search of its title and content in Google. In fact, about 1/10 articles are copied from Internet, or partly copied.

Why I hate such thing? One reason is I need to guarantee my blog's quality, if contents just copied from Internet, Google will think my blogs not original enough and its ranking will decrease in future.

2. No attractive or deep ideas

I have received many articles talking about "how to make money online", their methods are similar, and most ideas are: making money online with Adsense, with social marketing, with CPC, CPA etc. They are very right points but not enough when just simply mentioned in a guest post because most of us have known them. What the users want to know is much deeper as: what I can do with social marketing? How to do CPA offers and steps to realize a higher income etc.

If you really don't have attractive or innovative ideas, at least write one or two points that are deep and fewer people ever noticed that.

3. Too short

Some guest posts are only about 300 words, I remember one even had 200 words, though the content interested me a lot, so I responded to him and asked him to change the post to be a little longer, I also told him ways to manage that: if you have one creative idea, you can just organize your article into several parts, for example,

Part 1: Why you think out this idea, to solve which problem?

Part 2: About your idea, you can divide it into several little parts and illustrate one by one in 3 paragraphs

Part 3: What else needs to pay attention to when one implements that idea?

Part 4: Conclusion

This way, you can immediately get an article of 4 paragraphs which will be at least 400 words, more deep and rich in contents.

4. Grammar mistakes

Grammar mistakes is a big problem, in fact, I can't guarantee my English grammar is totally right because English is not my mother language. But the simplest step is to copy your content and paste into a DOC file, let it check your grammars.

5. Not relative to topics

Just like my blog: eblogtip.com, this blog is about blogging tips, making money online and useful tools. But I always get such articles like how to apply for colleges, credit card etc. Next time, when you want to submit one article, make sure you are writing similar topics.

6. Don't pay much attention to SEO

SEO is important to get traffic directly from search engines, if one adds keywords in title and at least in the first paragraph, it will boost your traffic much more than not using SEO.

Key: Get Creative or Professional Ideas

Guest blogger's aim is to get qualified dofollow backlinks and get more readers referred from that post. While admin of that blog which one posts guest post for is always seeking guest bloggers who can bring qualified contents. So if you can get creative or professional ideas, once published, your article will be outperformed than the others and thus will gain more visitors; another advantage is your article will be published very soon as the admin needs such contents.

How to get creative or professional ideas? There are some ways, according to my experience, and ways summarized from some excellent bloggers on my blog:

1. Get some insights from the other field

For example, one of my guest writers, who is a blogging consulter, wrote one guest post about how to become a blogging consulter as a how to build it into a new business. Blogging consulting has been developed these years but articles about such niche are not so much, he gives detailed and professional contents to such topic and gained many more clicks than the other guest posts.

2. Write with your own experience

This way, you will write with your own feelings, not writing an article, but your own feelings and will impress your readers too.

3. Ask more questions when you read the other's articles

If you can ask more questions and solve more problems, your article will become better than others. I always use this way when I feel too lazy to write. Even just a common article, if you keep asking questions and try to answer yourself, you can come up with more creative ideas.

In summary, these are some tips for being a nice guest blogger and get better results. If you can prevent yourself from making such common mistakes, and be more creative, if not professional, with your articles, you will 100 percent get better results and more targeted traffic!
