Blogging is an excellent form of marketing – particularly for small businesses and even for large corporations. In fact, most Fortune 500 companies (if not all) use blogs to keep customers and clients updated on news and by providing general information. A Blog is thus a simple, nearly free method of marketing. It has a number of benefits for a business.

Blogging has a number of benefits for a business. Foremost of all, it builds credibility and informs potential customers and clients that there is a person (or people) behind the business and that they are in touch with the world. It gives a good impression and makes the client/customer feel ‘at home'. There are a good number of further benefits of a blog to a business which are stated below.

  1. A Business can connect with potential clients and customers as well as stay connected with existing customers and clients.
  2. Since you are publishing content, it helps form your Blog (and thus your Business) as a source of information on your field so much so that at times you may be considered an ‘expert'.
  3. Free marketing and publicity from Search Engines (provided the SEO is good – although, for non or low competitive keywords this isn't even necessary).
  4. The above point also results in free traffic from search engines – traffic that wouldn't otherwise be possible.
  5. Places that ‘human' factor to your business – makes it more friendly and inviting

Other than these 5 reasons, there are a number of other reasons that reflect why you should blog.
