All chess players whether beginners or experienced players attempt to create a valid chess strategy that would make them victorious. Regardless of age, people who love this sport of the mind give lots of time and dedication to learning how to create defenses and organize attacks on the chess board. One basic strategy involves the attempt to castle right at the beginning of the game, this means you are trying to create good defenses for the king; after all this is actually the key to ensuring a correct and successful game development. Such a chess strategy will use at least three pawns in front of the king, a rook on the side and the edge of the board on the other.
It is not uncommon for two players to apply the same king-castling chess strategy; under such circumstances you may have to try and break the opponent's defenses by using pieces more powerful than his or her defenses. Sometimes, a chess strategy also involves compromise solutions that require the sacrifice of one of your attack pieces in order to create a breach in the opponent's protection of the king. Nevertheless, careful thinking is necessary in order to weigh the pros and cons of losing one of your “soldiers”.
Castling within the first fifteen moves of the game is the attempt most players aim at, yet, this is not always possible. This chess strategy cannot be well applied if you approach it on the queen's side; keep your troops close to the king where the knight and the bishop are extremely important. Furthermore, by the presence of very powerful pieces in the king's proximity, you make the possible opponent's advance pretty difficult. Therefore, most books that provide solutions for the creation of a chess strategy advise you not to keep the very important pieces stung out on the board.
A chess strategy where you castle with the help of a knight and a bishop also needs to rely on the protection of the pawns maintained in the front line. Why all these efforts? Because, the king is the essence of any chess game and the most vulnerable piece on the board, hence, the function of all the other pieces gravitates around this crucial item. A rule of the thumb in the creation of a valid chess strategy is to keep your mind open for trap detection; there are tempting opportunities when you can take out important adverse pieces, but that could be exactly what you're opponent wants you to do. A good strategy is an open one!
