It is very easy to gain weight; the problem comes with making sure that the weight you are gaining is healthy weight. It is one thing to be skinny and it is a totally different thing to be fat. If you are skinny you need to ensure that you work out towards attaining a lean body mass which is characterized by developing lean body muscles. Many skinny people want to increase there body mass the problem comes when they go on a wrong weight gain program which is likely to make them end up being overweight.
A lot of weight gain programs emphasize that a person should take plenty of calories. They therefore increase there food intake drastically and end up eating too much. When this happens the body responds by converting the excess calories into body fat. Thus instead of the person developing healthy weight which is signified by an increase in body muscles they start gaining body fat. They therefore lose there body composition and in the process start wishing they were skinny as before. They thus dodge one bullet and fall prey to the next bullet. As soon as they become overweight they then start looking for ways they can be able to lose weight. The ironical thing is that it is much easier to gain weight than to lose weight because once you gain that weight, shedding them off becomes quite a hustle.
There in order to avoid this hustle you should ensure that you avoid overdoing your calorie intake. You also need to do plenty of exercises which should include both aerobic exercises and weight training, although weight training should dominate the whole training program. The reason why I am saying you should emphasize more on the weight training session is because it is the only form of exercise which will help you increase your lean body muscles, and as we stated earlier if you want to increase healthy weight you should focus more on increasing your lean body muscles and not your body fat. When you weight train your body is also able to convert the excess calories into muscles and thus it will not be converted into body fat. Your weight training session should involve the use of very heavy weights. The only way and most effective way of causing extensive damage to your body muscles is by lifting very heavy weights. If however you choose to lift lighter weights with more reps you will not be able to cause extensive damage to the muscle tissues as compared to if you were using heavy weights with fewer reps.
The other exercise you need to undertake is aerobic exercises. However you should be very careful when undertaking this type of exercise because there are certain times you need to perform them so that they can become more effective in helping you transform your body and stay healthy. Aerobic exercise should be performed very early in the morning just before you take your breakfast and should be dome for duration of not less than twenty minutes. When you do this you will be able to develop a lean body physique.
