Body building is a very important field of life that many people should think and commit of venturing into. It is an old profession but as the saying goes there is nothing sweet like an old wine and it grows sweeter with ages. Just like other human developments body building has advanced in stages from using the crudest form of exercises and equipments to the current advanced strategies and state of the art machines. Body building has advanced as it is today, using the modern technology, via a series of adaptations by gaining more and more changes per day. A flash back to the old man's tools show that they had no technology to make body building as easy as it is today. Weight lifts were probably huge stones and other crude forms of exercise instruments. Nowadays, the modern gym has come with everything simplified and customized and is making things happen with the touch of a button.

Body building is said to have evolved with man since as early as the 1920's. This is the time when it was identified as a profession and an area that people could invest in. Since then, people can be said to have significantly become more aware and keen on their physique and health importance. Unlike before they spend huge amounts of their money in creating perfect bodies. Well studied Statistics show clearly that supplements used in body building are now selling at a very alarming rate. People are also hiring many personal trainers and they are now said to be making money out of the body building profession. Gyms too are not left out and are filling up membership capacities to the beam. But what has made body building this famous might be associated to its roots and place of origin.

Body building as a sport approximately started one century ago. A man by the name Eugene Sandow is honored and given the merit as the one behind the profession. As the father in this respect to body building, he is said to have invited spectators and show cased the event in which the object of interest was his well outlined and muscular body. This was a very unique adventure as many people never thought that the body could at any time mean anything different and no one thought it could create such a great impact. From then people started to display agility and strength and it became the center stage of many performances. Sooner than later he was among the most popular people in Germany and he used his earned fame in establishing businesses related to body building as well as selling products needed for body building.

Equipment started emerging in the market for different body building approaches and they all bore different brand names and advertising lines. Sandow's name just like it sounds, is connected closely to a competition and or contest featuring world's best body builders, showcased in London. It is said that during the World War One, eleven body builders gained a lot of muscles and they thus qualified as the strongest and best built up. Their success can be attributed to the respect they commanded and also the fact that they were very aggressive. It was thought to many that a strong physique would help stand up and fight the enemy. With time body building has became a truly organized sport with many organizations including the, International Federation of Body Building, exclusively formed to guide the body building profession.
