Review of New Moon by Stephenie Meyer – From the Twilight Saga

Synopsis:
New Moon is the continuing saga of Bella and Edward's romance. Edward vows that he will love Bella forever, but then a complication arises. Bella is put in danger because of her proximity to Edward's vampire world. Edward decides that leaving Bella is the best way to keep her safe, little knowing what his absence will cost them both.
Bella becomes a wraith of her former self, not able to function without her reason for existence--Edward. With Edward gone, she has to seek something to hold onto to enable her to get on with her life, and she finds that in Jacob, her best friend. Unfortunately, Bella cannot escape from the mystical world to which she is constantly drawn into. Jacob is a werewolf.
Bella is caught in the middle of the struggle with the vampire world and the werewolves. But in the end, her choice is clear as she races to save Edward from death by the vampire's ruling monarchy of the Volturi.
Review:
New Moon, this vampire romance novel, is every bit as good as the original book in the series, Twilight. With plot twists and turns, and suspense at every corner, the reader is kept intrigued. The reader can also sympathize with Bella's loss when Edward decides it is best to leave her.
Although New Moon focuses more on Bella and Jacob's relationship, and him coming to terms with what he is (a werewolf), Bella and Edward's romance is still very much in play. It is interesting to see how someone so in love (as Bella is with Edward) reacts to that love being taken away. Are there any limits to what Bella will do to keep even the thought of Edward in her life? Bella is put at risk again and again, keeping the reader excited to find out what happens next.
Stephenie Meyer has again created a completely believable vampire world, but has added in the new element of the existence of werewolves. She has also added a love triangle that makes readers wonder which character Bella should really choose, Edward or Jacob. Each guy has strengths and weaknesses that are totally believable and attractively 'human'.
New Moon is again classed as a teen romance novel (or a vampire romance novel) that really appeals to all ages. If you loved Twilight, you will be sure to love this new vampire novel offering!
