Volunteer for the Volcanio Tenario National Park in Costa Rica

ASVO is a non-profit NGO which places volunteers in Costa Rica's national parks and protected areas. ASVO's objective is to improve the conditions and amount of volunteer work performed at a national and international level. Volunteers must be of age 18 or above with minimum education of high school.

Volunteers with the following special skills are preferred for the placement:-

Forestry Environmental Science Biology Data Collection Statistics Rock Climbing Hiking Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:

1.  Working in important sites within the park which present a high risk of erosion, creating barriers to help limit the amount of erosion.

2. Working in the parts of the park with areas that are unsafe for tourists, building barriers to improve access to the different areas of the park.

3. General repairs to the park's trails.

4. Environmental education for local communities Communal work: help with social activities, infrastructure and others.

Volunteers are needed to help protect the many different types of habitats found within the park - the park is home to four different types of forest as well as many different species of plants and animals.

The tasks would require the maintainence of the facilities, trials,tending to public and patrolling with the park rangers, protectig the species and the forests, environmental edcation and promoting ecotourism,maintaining buildings and the administrative tasks.
