Cowe's Automotive Industrial Estate Foundation Stone Laid at Toopran in Ap

Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE), a city based a non-profit business organization promoted to bring about social and economic upliftment of women force through entrepreneurship commences the work of its 30-acre Automotive Industrial Estate, coming up at APIIC Automotive Park, Kalakal Village, Toopran Mandal, Medak District today. The Bhoomi Pooja was done today and foundation stone laid by Dr. J. Geetha Reddy, Minister for Major Industries, Sugar, Commerce & Export Promotion, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking on the occasion immediately after the inauguration, Dr. J. Geetha Reddy said about Rs 12000 crore is proposed to be invested by various companies such as MLR Motors Rs 11000crore, Lokesh Motors Rs 500 crore, Hinduja Foundaries Rs 300crore and COWE Rs 250 crore she said.

Earlier welcoming the gathering Mrs. Suman Kumar, President of COWE said that it was a moment of great pride and honour for us to receive 30 acres of industrial land in Automotive Park in Toopran, exclusively for women entrepreneurs from the Government and Dr. Geetha Reddy who pioneered this project by announcing 10% resevation of industrial land in Industrial estates and SEZs for women entrepreneurs. This is absolutely exclusive to Andhra Pradesh.

Mrs. Suman Kumar expressed her happiness for allocating them 90 acres of Industrial land to develop and help women to set up their enterprises in three phases. In the first phase today 30 acres land is handed over and another 30 acres land is available to COWE for development and allotment in 3rd phase of the Biotech Park in Karkapatla she said.

Mr. Sam Bob, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Andhra Pradesh; Mr. B.P. Acharya, Chairman & MD, APIIC (Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd.); Mr. Albert Over, ZDH, SEQUA; Mr. Lokeshwara Rao, LMR Motors, Mr. Piyush Kumar, IAS, Collector of Medak District, Mr. Kammari Venkatesh, Sarpanch of Kallakal Village, Mr. J. Srinivas, MPTC Member of Kallakal Village and others attended the Bhoomi Pooja.

Giving details Mrs. Suman Kumar, President - COWE said, "There is also a plan to set up a Food Park at Kucharam. COWE has tied up with APITCO (Andhra Pradesh Industrial and Technology Consultancy Organisation Ltd.), CII-BYST (Confederation of Indian Industry - Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust) and MSME (Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises), Government of India to develop industrial clusters in food processing. A retail seminar is planned in November to provide a platform where large retailers meet women in business."

Mrs. Suman added that it is a landmark gesture of the AP government in allotting 10% of land at Industrial Estates and SEZs to Women Entrepreneurs. This would go a long way in encouraging women in business. COWE has the distinction of being the foremost organisation in being allotted 90 acres of land in different parts of Industrial Estates.
