GET SINGAPORE is a non-profit, collective brand that showcases and promotes some of the nation’s most dynamic merchandise brands. Participating brands sign up on annual basis to be a part of this collective marketing platform and all proceeds go towards the marketing and promotional activities undertaken on a group basis for the participating brands.
GET SINGAPORE is the result of a joint initiative of SPRING Singapore and the Retail Industry to develop a collective brand that will serve as a focused marketing platform for local retail brands to create awareness of well designed, high quality Singaporean merchandise. The initiative, also supported by Singapore Tourism Board, has been subscribed by 37 retail brands, owned by 34 large and mid-sized local retailers.
The goals of the GET SINGAPORE initiative are to:
1. Offer a platform for Singapore retailers to showcase and market their brands and merchandise to a wider audience both in Singapore and abroad
2. Offer companies and members of the public access to branded, well-designed merchandise conceived and developed in Singapore
3. Collectively promote Singapore as a place where good design and innovative retail ideas exist
4. Enable the exchange of ideas and expertise between participating brands to improve the marketing of <a onClick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://www.getsingapore.sg">Singapore brands</a> and merchandise
Reinforcing Singapore’s reputation for good quality, authentic products, and leveraging on upcoming activities such as F1, APEC Ministerial Conference and the opening of the two IRs, the GET SINGAPORE brand will help local retailers reach out to overseas visitors, who make up a significant market segment of the retail industry, as well as build pride and loyalty amongst local consumers for our home-grown brands. With the increasing ubiquity of global retail brands, we believe this collective brand will make an important statement about the Singapore retail industry in today’s competitive climate.
As GET SINGAPORE builds up its brand equity, it can also serve as an excellent platform for local retailers to expand their markets and export their merchandise.
