How to choose a right Brand Design Strategy

I just listed some points which may help you to make a flow chart of brand design strategies of a new venture or revamping of a old one. Below are a few steps that help you strategise the brand design for your company:

Select a dynamic name

This is the most important and essential step while creating a brand for your company. The name that you select should be expressive and indicative of what your company, product or service involves. It should sound generic as to in case your company or product changes with time, the name would still be functional. For example, if you are an e-commerce site selling electronic products, you can use e-selling as the company name. Now later if you change your nature of products to clothing and textiles, even then e-selling would work for you. The name given to a company should be static so that users can identify it with and remember it. Also a neutral name such as e-selling would not be a concern while adding updates and new features to the company.

Get a Logo

The very first that needs to be while launching a new company or product is to create an apt logo. The logo should cover the image of the company and the font you want to use. You could either use a strong font and a creative one, all that would depend on the nature of your business. Good use of colours also influences the logo. You must understand that the logo would appear on letterheads, business cards, notebooks and of course the company building. Therefore, the designing of the logo must be done keeping in mind all these factors. After the creation of the logo, it is necessary to protect it from being plagiarised. You can either insert a service mark in it or else get it registered. Another way of protecting it from being stretched or skewed is to get it done by a professional designer who would make sure that it never gets skewed by someone.

Consistent Messaging

This might sound easy however, when messaging is not dealt with formally or distributed to the entire organisation, problems arise. One person may describe the company and its product and services in one way while the other person might have a completely different view. Therefore you need to modify the messaging and make it consistent. The managers of the company should meet and settle on product messaging for example company taglines and other standard terms and phrases. It may also include the company’s history, its formation and other intrinsic details that speak for the company. This information should be documented and distributed among all employees so that they know all about the company and can tell other people about it. All this should be reflected on the company website, brochures and even online media such as blogs.

Uniform Look and Feel

Lastly, before attempting any marketing or ad campaign to build the brand design on any platform such as social media groups, email blasts or trade exhibitions, consider all kinds of prospective customers and accordingly plan the look.
