Beautiful women, exotic adventures, and boundless amounts of money seem like every man's dream. And for awhile, it was Bruce Hulse's reality. Thrust into the glamorous world of male modeling, it appeared that Hulse had it all. He was gracing the pages of the world's top fashion magazines, including GQ and Men's Vogue, while sleeping with the world's most beautiful and sought after super models. But the hedonistic and excessive world of fashion left Hulse feeling empty and unsatisfied. While he was living a fantasy life, he was depressed and lonely. It was only years later, after he found true love and started a family, that he was able to find inner peace and meaning.
In his new autobiography, Sex, Love, And Fashion, Bruce Hulse details his life journey, from carefree lifeguard in New Jersey to international male model to loving husband, father, and photographer. Hulse surged to fame in the 80s and 90s when modeling was at its peak - and he, like many others, became victim to the decadence that accompanied it: sex, drugs, extravagant trips, and intense competition. But Hulse's biggest weakness was women. Throughout his life, it seemed that no matter where Hulse went, a bevy of beautiful women followed. In this behind-the-scenes, tell-all book, Hulse confesses his experiences as an international male model, his relationships with some of the biggest names in fashion, and how he survived it all.
Bruce Hulse also shares his spiritual journey. A quiet philosopher, Hulse was always looking for the deeper meaning in life. He read voraciously about philosophy and religion, and throughout his life followed yogis, gurus, and other spiritual guides in a quest for happiness and solace. Hoping to connect his mind and body, he also was a devotee of yoga, a master of martial arts, and an avid runner. Trying every activity and every spiritual guide he could to gain fulfillment, it was only after a fateful meeting with a beautiful young woman, and his eventual ability to open his heart to love, that awakened Hulse to real gratification. Hulse now lives in Southern California with his wife and two children.
Sex, Love, And Fashion, publishing August 2008, is a candid look at what the alluring, high-profile world of fashion is truly like, and shows what really happens behind the runway curtain and before the camera starts shooting.
