Using Your Logo on Multiple Business Signs

Business signs are a great way to advertise, and many times they are effective, budget-friendly marketing methods. Whether you're advertising a promotion a grand opening, or just want a larger display of your business name, where you place your logo, trademark, or name is important. Consumers are visual, and they will remember and recognize a graphic logo or trademark before they remember a name. That's why the placement of your company's logo is important to the branding of your business.

The Size of Your Business Signs

The first step in choosing the right banner is deciding on an appropriate size. Your logo can be enlarged to any size, so you want to make sure that the size of banner you choose will effectively showcase your company. Speak with the sign company to help you determine the right size. If placing the sign in front of your business and you're leasing the space, you may have guidelines from a landlord in regards to the size of advertisements. When choosing a business sign, just make sure it's not too large that it's an eyesore, but that it's still big enough for people to see from a distance.

The Size of Your Logo

The next step is determining how much you want to enlarge your logo. This will depend partly on the shape. A circular logo is much easier to enlarge and place than a wide, angle shaped type logo. The key to a logo is to provide a visual reference for your business. You don't want the entire banner to be one big visual, but you do want your trademark to stand out so that even if people can't read what's on the banner, they'll know what type of business is represented.

The Placement of Your Logo

The last step is figuring out where you want to place the logo. Many business owners like to place a trademark near the top and off to the side. Some like to put it in the middle and have information written around it. Others like to create a number of small logos and put one on each corner of all business signs. The sign company you work with should be able to create digital samples for you to preview before deciding on the actual placement. But remember that no matter where you place it, if a customer can't recognize it then it doesn't help you attract consumers or brand your business.
