Even with the very best intentions, relationships sometimes fall apart at the seams. It may not be the fault of either person, but instead it's a case of the two individuals simply drifting apart. Although a split may seem like the right thing to do at the time, after the dust has settled you may look back and realize you've just lost the woman you truly love. If you are thinking about your ex girlfriend all the time and you feel that you want another chance, there's hope. There are things you can do that can help repair the relationship so you two can rekindle what you once had.

When you are thinking about your ex girlfriend there are going to be moments when your mind wanders to what went wrong between the two of you. One important step towards reconciliation is forgiveness. If there are things she did that caused you to pull back, you are going to need to forgive her for those. You'll also need to apologize to her if you've also been at fault for the conflicts in the relationship. Starting over with a clean slate is really the one way you two are going to have a chance at happiness.

Trying to make her jealous may seem like a great idea, but it's not. When you are thinking about your ex girlfriend you may wonder how she'd react if she thought you'd found a new love. Even if you believe that she'd come running back out of fear of losing you forever, don't try it. It may backfire on you and she may decide that you're better off with the new girl. Don't involve any other women in your life if your end goal is to get back the woman you love.

Befriending her is also necessary if you want to get her back. Chances are that when you are thinking about your ex girlfriend you are imagining many of the romantic moments the two of you shared in the past. Don't make the assumption that you can just jump back into that dynamic with her soon after the break up. You'll stand a much better chance of getting her back for good if you approach her as a friend. Be non-threatening and don't invite her out on dates. Instead, treat her as you would any friend and be there when she needs you. It's that friendship that will eventually become the building block for a closer, more involved relationship between you two.
