Do you frequently find it tricky to make time for your selling activities? Or do you find that when you do market, it is not consistent enough to bring you the results you want? Selling your business is as vital as what it is that you do. If you embrace that, you will stop struggling so much and reach an entire other level of success!
Before my business developed into what it is now, I was trading my time for money. As a public relations and marketing specialist, I charged by the hour. Do you see the difficulty here? There are limited hours in the day, right? And if I needed to pay the rent, I needed the majority of them to be chargeable hours, which left almost no time for selling.
Here are 3 steps to implementing this model into your business :
Use the funnel method of marketing. I talk about this constantly, but it's's such a powerful model ( that really works ) that I desire as many people as possible to embrace it. If you set your business up inside this system, it will automatically do your selling for you. And it's the best kind of selling - the "set it and forget it" kind! ( Visit http://www.clientabundance.com / mpfunnelarticle.htm for an article I wrote about this. )
2. Stop trading time for money... You can create products from data you already have, in a way that is simple to package and deliver,eg an electronic book. Taking your expertise and bottling it essentially allows you to help more people than you ever could one-on-one, and it lets those prospects that might not be ready to afford your rates a choice of still working with you, just in a different form.
Once you start offering products, and start bringing in passive revenue, raise your one-on-one costs. Now don't gasp! What will raise your charges do? It will enable you to gracefully let go of some of those less than ideal clients and let you're employed with extra of those whom you are best suited to serve. The rise in fees will, at the least, offset the loss of money from the clients that have dropped off, but finally you'll bring in more money by taking your business to an increased level of quality and commitment. It will also give you more time to make more products!
Structure your business around this model and you will enjoy working with additional of your ideal clients and consumers, create more revenue by way of packaging your knowledge into products, and give yourself more time to spend building your business to the highest vision of it you can imagine.
