A Call for a Date

Watch out! before actually asking someone just in the next cubicle for a date, you must first be aware if your company has this employee dating rules. If the company does not prohibit this matter at all, it only means there are no rules for employers from actually forbidding dates among its employees.

If you go ask someone for a date and all you got is a big "No" then don't dare ask again. You must learn to accept and respect when your co-league does not show any interest on you.

You must first be able to build a foundation of a good office relationship so that you can eventually take it to the next level and that is a romantic relationship. Learn things about the person you would like have the chance to date with. When you were already able to build this foundation ask the person out which will be prior to a real date.

You must be open for the fact that commitments does not work just like the one seen in the movies. If the relationship does not end up just the way you would like it to be then you must face the fact that you still have to do your job with that the same person.

You must accept that flirting is not good at work. Right after your date is over then you must first learn to forget about it at work. Avoid sending love emails and never to mention it to your other co-leagues not until both of you have already decided on it.

Make doors for communication. In dating there is something both of you have and that is dual relationship(corporate and romantic). Both of you must learn to listen.

Never be embarrassed of talking about harassment(sexually). Both of you must agree that whenever someone feels that he/she is being harassed it will be discussed and that person is privileged of terminating the relationship.

If it happens that you are a high-ranking position in the company, you need to inform your employer that you are dating a fellow co-worker, well of course with this you must be already familiar with the company's rules about the matter. If the person you would like to date with is under you responsibility then you must transfer that person to the other party.

Once the rumor is out you must be able to confirm it with your employer and firmly tell that you like to keep this professionally at work.
