For example concrete pavers are not as suitable as clay pavers as they can lose their colour over time and suffer from efflorescence (white salts staining the surface). If you are ordering online then the brick etching company will email you a form and you will then have to list the message/image you want etched into the bricks, the font and the colour. Make sure all of these details are correct as the order will be fulfilled from that form. This means if you have made any mistakes they will be replicated in the order. On average it will take around two to three weeks for the brick etching company to complete a small order (1 to 200 bricks). Larger orders could take up to four weeks. Caring for Brick Etching
Brick etching will last as long as the brick or paver but the colours used to pick out the design can fade over the years. You can clean the etched brick carefully with some hot soapy water and a soft bristle brush to help brighten up the colours, but you should avoid using brick acid or jet washers as this can remove the colour completely.
