If you give anyone a sheet of bubble wrap then the chances are that as soon as they get it in their hands they will start popping away at the individual bubbles. There is no denying that it can feel good to do this but for anybody who is sitting near you it can quickly become annoying. As fun or relieving as popping every last bit of the wrapping can be, it is certainly not what the product was intended to be used for. The primary usage is to provide protection and a cushioned layer to any fragile goods that need to be delivered, packaged or stored. Therefore, if the sheet is popped then it is clearly not going to be any use as a protective layer as it will just be a piece of plastic. It would make much more sense to refrain from the desire of squeezing as much air as you can so that it could be used again as cushioning. Sitting there popping away could also make you unpopular with your colleagues or anyone else around you as the noise can certainly become annoying when it can be heard every few seconds.
Looking at the other side of things though, popping bubble wrap can be a good way of reliving yourself of some built up stress and tension. It works exactly like a stress ball would so you can really give it a good squeeze when you can feel things building up inside. If you do decide to use it for this purpose then it is better not to use too much as this just turns into a big waste and you should also make sure that you don't annoy those around you!
