How many times a day have you heard that famous sales pitch, advertisement, or whatever, saying that you can get rich by working from your own home? Lots of time, I'm sure.
That famous sales pitch is used so many times these days because marketers know that making money from home is the most wanted dream comes true of millions of people from around the world.
Therefore, I can imagine that when someone knocking your door, offering you an opportunity to take your day job and toss it away, yet still you can make enough money to live and pay all your bills, it sounds wonderfully tempting, wouldn't you agree?
But is it really possible to run a business from your own home that is more than a hobby or part-time income? Can you really get rich by working from your own home? Can you really trade your cubical and necktie for those lovable blue jeans or pajamas and the comfort of your own bedroom?
Well, for your information, home based businesses are one of the fastest growing ventures in Australia today. As this article is being written, around 2 million Australians are doing at least some form of work from their homes. And those numbers can only keep rising rapidly thanks to the Internet.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) in 2003, as many as 67% of all 784,800 small businesses in Australia, were actually home based businesses.
With an estimated 4% increase rate per year, there will be around 700,000 people are going to quit their day jobs and work from their homes by the year of 2008. And staggeringly enough that some studies have indicated as much as 75% of all work done in the office could eventually be moved to home.
The vast majority of home workers, however, are not exactly becoming wealthy. The average work at home Australians earns less than $10,000 per year. That may not be a bad news if you consider those earnings as mere supplements to your full-time day job income, but to think that $10,000 a year can support your family, then you must get your day job again.
As master marketer and author, Dr. Jeffrey Lant said: "Truthfully, I never saw any benefit to staying home and being poor."
Lant, without so much as a business card, became a work at home millionaire, and is a perfect example of what truly can be achieved if you are serious about throwing away your boring day job, firing your own Boss, and not settling for peanuts in exchange for your freedom.
You see, you can have it all; you can stay at your comfortable home and make as much money as you ever wanted, probably even bigger than your current job provides you. What a great way to create the lifestyle that you want for yourself and your family. You can start work any time of the day. You can even enjoy a sleep in because you don't have to open the shop to customers. You are in charge of your start time.
All you have to do is take action!
