Capacitive Touch Becomes a House Hold Name

Capacitive touch technology is the pricier cousin on resistive touch technology. Resistive touch panels are less expensive and have a shorter lifespan than capacitive panels. One publication stated that by 2012, touch screen panel revenue will surpass $4 billion dollars. Besides cell phones and credit card machines, capacitive sensors are found in

  • E-books

  • Hospitals

  • Keyboards

  • Computer mice

  • Home appliances

  • Mp3 players

Besides all of the time saved using touch screens, there are so many other reasons touch technology is booming:

  • Eliminating the computer mouse, which removes a lot of chronic injuries

  • Reduced paper use, like checks

  • Compact and simple

  • Efficient

  • Instant database storage capabilities

For what ever the use for capacitive touch, it is certain that it is just the beginning of uses for the unique, durable and popular technology.
