Negative words in copy tends to make the reader feel negative to some kind of degree, so that's why you should not use them in your copy. As an example, instead of saying:"... don't do this," you should say: "... avoid doing this." You'll encounter lots of situations that could use a negative contraction or negative comparison. The risk of using negative wording is that the negative emotions you invoke will most likely be misidentified and associated with your offer.

Of course you cannot come across like you're selling something, even though people know you're selling something - no matter what, though, in the end - copy and copywriters sell things. Another simple copywriting mistake is to give away too much vital information (which is supposed to be retained) or having a lack of information (that is required to be known by the prospect). Many copywriters aren't sure what information they should put in their copy and how much they should keep for their products. But it becomes necessary to go through your copy so that you can put in the information that needs to be in there and take out any information that reveals too much. The copy needs to be balanced correctly. For example, if you're offering an SEO software implement that was created utilizing Visual Basic, you don't really need to let your prospects know that. But if your software tool helps them get better rankings with the search engines, you'll need to write that in your copy. In simpler terms, make sure you give just enough away to make them want the product, but at the same time hold back so you leave something for later. This will take some time to get used to, but once you do you'll be great at it. Always keep in mind that anyone reading your copy has already shown interest in what you're offering, and all they want is a little more information so that they can make a good decision on whether or not to buy it.

Make sure you look over your sales copy before it goes online to make sure it's correct. Even if you're the best writer and you're sure it's fine, it's always best for you and a few others to glance over it to make sure there are no errors. You'll always want to make sure you read over it first before it goes to anyone else so that you know that it doesn't have any mistakes. Therefore, make sure you are completely professional in every aspect of your business and never allow tiny errors to make you fail. In conclusion, the above mistakes are easy to stay away from, if you've done your homework and know where you're going.
