If you are going about creating imprinted promotional products, what are your options? First, consider your customer base – who are you trying to attract? In general, most businesses want to catch the public, the average buyer or individual who would need its products or services. In this case, an imprinted promotional product needs to appeal to such an individual. Such items as tote bags, cups or mugs, and pens imprinted with your logo are ideal.

At the same time, consider the visibility of your company's or organization's logo. Larger surface area, such as that on a tote bag or mug, allows your company more design and color options. Pens, while useful for practically all individuals, are often too small, but their size – and corresponding price – allows them to be distributed easier.

If you are looking to make a distinct impression on your potential customer base, however, consider promotional items similar to your company's or organization's services. A beauty salon, for instance, can give out imprinted home pedicure or manicure kits on opening day. This way, the imprinted item is both promotional for you and useful to the customer. Similarly, an upscale clothing store may want to consider imprinted garment bags, a bar shot glasses, or a sports supplies store golf, tennis, or baseballs.

Also consider where the product will be distributed. Some companies, in order to attract business clients, target trade shows, while others show up at job fairs or community events to attract customers. In either on these instances, think about where your customer – person or business – will be picking up your imprinted promotional product and its relevancy to the event.
