What is the most important part of your internet business? It is not your product! It is not your marketing plan! It is not your profit! The foundation of your home based enterprise is your customers. And the success of your online venture is dependent upon your relationship with your clients.
The reality of making money online is no customers = no money. It is essential that your clients know they are the most important resource you have if you want to enjoy success with your work from home venture. Your ability to give customers the satisfaction they need should be the top priority when you are developing your home based business. But what is customer satisfaction?
Customer satisfaction is providing your clients with an environment that gives them assurance and re-assurance every time they interact with you or your internet business. The communications that you develop with your customers through phone conversations, E-mails, written correspondence and body language are sending a message. If your goal is to achieve online success then you need to inform your buyers that you are committed to addressing their needs and alleviating their concerns. Let's apply this concept to an online home based business.
Remember the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Put yourself in the position of your buyer. If you were the customer, how would you want to be treated? Apply this idea to the relationship that you have with your home business customers. Simply put, treat every client as if the success or failure of your work from home business is dependent upon this transaction. Customer service is about good attitude and positive communication. Both must work together for your clients.
With an online business, most of the contact you have with your customers is by phone or through E-mail. Are you a good listener? Are you a good writer? The internet is an impersonal place but the quality of your communication skills can overcome this obstacle. Inform your clients about what is happening on all levels of the current transaction. Tell them that your goal is their satisfaction in all of your correspondence.
Inform your buyer when you receive their order and when you ship their products. Tell your customers who is delivering their merchandise and when they can expect their package. If there is a problem, let them know immediately. Prepare yourself for the inevitable situations that will occur. You will get angry phone calls and flaming E-mails from unhappy buyers even when you have a home based business.
When your dissatisfied customer calls, let them vent their frustration. After they finished, ask what you can do to resolve this situation to their satisfaction. Be willing to compromise. Remember, you have been an unhappy buyer as well. In works the same way with E-mails. The customer has vented through their correspondence. Send them an E-mail and start showing your concern through your willingness to resolve the situation. Keep in mind that the success or failure of your home business is dependent on this circumstance.
When you analyze your communication skills, what are your strengths? Listening? Writing? Speaking? At the other end of the spectrum, what are your weaknesses? If a successful internet home business is your goal what will you do to achieve your prosperity? Do your communication skills need a tune-up? Your customers are your most important asset Invest in yourself to improve all aspects of your relationship with them.
The success or failure of an internet home business is dependent upon one thing, your customers. Without this vital ingredient, you will not succeed. If you strive to give your clients an environment where they feel wanted and appreciated, they will come back. Not only will they return, they will bring their friends with them. Focus on making customer satisfaction your number one priority and you will be planting a seed that will grow into your online business success.
