Domestic Violence Victims Security Expert Outlines Domestic Violence Help Tips

Historically many married domestic violence DV victims have suffered in silence as most law enforcement agencies maintained a hands-off approach to intervening in marital affairs.

Thankfully most of today's law enforcement agencies have revised their policies and now adopt a more pro-active response when faced with DV victims. Most of these law enforcement agencies employ specially trained support officers who provide DV help.

It's an interesting statistic that many people only consider DV victims as female or children, when in fact if you Google the key phrase, 'domestic violence men' you will see that there is a very high number of recorded searches.

The internet has opened up an avenue for research and has also raised an awareness of DV victims and identified agencies and individuals who provide DV help. You can even access information online about DV statistics. Utilising an online search engine provides masses of DV information.

Domestic violence is clearly a crime that is increasing and there are many reasons why this is occurring. One of the greatest problems in collating accurate DV statistics is that a high percentage of these crimes go unreported to law enforcement agencies.

To gauge how much awareness of DV victims is increasing try this quick exercise. Go online and open up your Google browser, type in domestic violence, and less than 2 seconds you will be presented with approximately 26.800.000 million page views.

I researched it even further and identified that people were conducting the following number of searches for these key phrases every month:

- Domestic violence victims 14.800

- Domestic Violence Help 8.100

- Domestic violence men 8.100

- Domestic violence women 18.100

- Domestic violence children 14.800

- domestic violence statistics 33,100

This provides an indication of the level of interest in DV.

Sadly most of us only ever get to hear about DV victims when the press TV or media run a story. Frequently this will be either an incident of DV children or DV women typically alleging a high profile media personality as the perpetrator.

It is very rare for a DV men incident to be nationally or internationally reported. One of the DV men incidents which received global broadcast was the alleged case of the astrophysicist Professor Hawkins.

A police case file was opened after members of his family alleged he required DV help because of a number of unexplained injuries.

After many allegations and a strong denial from Professor Hawkins that he was not one of the growing number of DV victims police closed the case file without any charges being levied.

DV statistics show that one in every four women resident in the United Kingdom is, or will become one of the recorded DV victims.Whether these victims realise it or not they will all require DV help.

A DV security expert suggests that although DV is a very serious crime against women, men and children the DV statistics show the arrest and conviction rate of offenders is one of the poorest within the Police Departments in the UK.

DV is not a recent phenomenon; in fact, domestic violence can be traced to early mankind with the cave men and over the generations to the 'Rule of Thumb' Law in the late 18 hundreds.

In this, a man was allowed to beat his wife providing he didn't use anything that was wider than his thumb.

Although times are changing and there are laws to stop the DV occurring, most women tend to ignore it in the hope the violence will go away. This is a fallacy that has been well documented, with most DV victims cases being a common occurrence over many years and not just a recent one off-event.

In regards to domestic violence help women also tend to be very scared to report their partner, in case he abuses them, or their children. He may also be the only breadwinner in the family, so they will ultimately have nothing to survive with, should they report their partners and he gets arrested or leaves the family home.

Domestic violence victims who require domestic violence help but are suffering in silence should understand there are ways to defeat your abuser. If you visit www.closeprotectiongz.com and look in the Blog section, there are a number of free security articles including several on stalking and counter stalking.

If you read these articles you will access a wealth of insider security expert information and counter domestic violence tactics which can be used in your favour.

Security Expert Tip: Concerning domestic violence victims. If you are a victim then although this might sound somewhat cliché, you have to report the incident and seek immediate domestic violence help.

You must also leave your abuser immediately. No amount of apologies from your abuser is going to stop a future attack. All that will happen is that your abuser will escalate the level of physical and psychological violence against you with each subsequent attack.

Men who force their female partners to become domestic violence victims feel the urge to either physically or mentally abuse their partners because they strive for two things, control and power.

Most of the violence is also premeditated and not a sudden flashpoint in a man's life. A lot of the reasons men provide as an excuse for their domestic violence, is that they just lost it and the partner happened to be the nearest one to them.

This can be contested by the fact that a man may have an argument with his partner. He will then go out and get drunk with his friends, knowing that on his return to the home, he is going to blame his partner for causing the argument. This gives him false reason to abuse and attack her.

In today's society, the law protects women, children and men, and there are a lot of domestic violence shelters and hostels which cater for domestic violence women, domestic violence children and domestic violence men.

Security Expert Tip: Domestic violence victims should never listen to assurances that it will never happen again, or excuses from anyone inflicting domestic violence on you. Although you may be a domestic violence victim i

t doesn't mean you should continue to be a victim. If someone has physically hurt you in a domestic violence incident and then apologises and tells you he or she loves you, then they are lying. People who genuinely love each other do not inflict physical or mental damage on their loved one. All domestic violence victims need domestic violence help.

There are also domestic violence victims programmes set up by the Probation Service, so that the abusers have the choice to stop the domestic violence and abuse or face the prospect of a jail sentence.

But ultimately, the choice must be with society itself. In that, if we see or hear any acts of domestic violence committed, whether it is our family, friends, and neighbours or just in the street, then we must try to stop it.

One of the National Women's Charities which helps domestic violence victims is called Refuge; here women can receive domestic violence help and advice about what to do. They have a crisis telephone help-line, which is 0990 995 443 and they can be contacted 24 hours a day.(check the validity of this number before you have to.)

Also, because domestic violence is a crime and punishable by law, then domestic violence victims can possibly claim Legal Aid in order to use the professional services available to them to stop the abuse happening again. Don't suffer in silence; seek domestic violence help now before it's too late.

If everyone pulls together incidents of domestic violence and the number of domestic violence victims suffering in silence can be significantly reduced.

Security Expert Tip & Footnote: If you are, or if you know anyone who are domestic violence victims requiring domestic violence help, then don't suffer in silence because nowadays any incident of physical violence is a crime.

The sooner you report your domestic violence perpetrator the sooner he or she will be arrested and hopefully jailed.

If you are uncomfortable or uncertain about contacting law enforcement, then approaching a private security expert is a good option. Just ensure the credibility and qualifications of the security expert before you hire him or her.
