Engaging Clients in Conversations through a Virtual Assistant

Developing strong relationships with the people is the most important thing in using social media for business.

The reason social media is such a hit with people is because it allows them to connect with people beyond the physical, emotional and spiritual borders.  Social media allow people to engage in meaningful (and even not so meaningful) discussions with people that they normally wouldn't be able to interact with in real life. A person living in the United States can start a friendship with a man from India; long-distance romances can be started; valuable information can be shared through the media in real time. The essence of social media is the INTERACTION that happens between the users.

This is the most important thing that companies must remember when they decide to use social media for their benefit. Social media is called such because it is used by people for socializing and communicating with one another.  A company can only experience great success in using social media if it engages people in meaningful conversations. More than using social media such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc. as a broadcasting media to reach hundreds and thousands of users, a company can make better use of social media by treating them as two-way communication channels.  Companies who appoint a dedicated person to work on their social media accounts gain a better understanding of what their clients want because of their close interaction with their customers.  Companies who also use social media to gain information about competition and industry news gain better perspectives on how to run their business. Without interaction with the people using social media, the company will still gain benefits from social but is sadly not taking full advantage of the features and benefits of social media.

  1. This makes the company's dealings with clients more personal and helps bring about stronger relationships with the people.
