Executive Coaching

Executive coaching is designed with practicality in mind in order to deliver results and action as it is learning orientated - leveraging people’s strengths, improving effectiveness and producing positive business results in a way that is quicker than they could be achieved alone.

A professional coach will act as a sounding board in order to help people to focus on the key issues, holding people accountable to any agreed actions in order to provide a catalyst for positive change - in effect an executive coach will "shine a torch" whilst clients have both hands free to manage the tasks required to achieve their goals.

Executive coaching is very well suited to helping most managers and directors as it provides a one-to-one development mechanism allowing them to address their weaknesses and leverage their strengths in a supportive environment (something that isn’t usually available in most companies where it’s difficult to admit “I don’t know”).

How executive coaching is typically used

The use of Executive Coaching is both wide and varied but typical situations where coaching can provide significant benefits include the following situations where there is a need to:

• Improve an individual’s performance to achieve greater results – by using the core function of one-to-one performance and leadership executive coaching we are able to leverage peoples’ strengths, help improve decision making and produce positive business results at a rate which is quicker than can be achieved alone.

• Support the organisation’s Leaders – it is often a lonely position at the top and an executive coach can provide an experienced and supportive sounding board, acting as a valuable safety net whilst offering an alternative perspective which is not usually available from colleagues or friends. In short an executive coach can help provide new strategic insights and support.

• Overcome any managerial underperformance - where a manager has some weaknesses which cause internal conflicts or poor performance an executive coach can be best suited to help them recognise any such problems and help figure out the best ways to turn things around in an objective manor.

• Provide 1 to 1 leadership development – as a pose to group training, executive coaching will provide a more powerful alternative, which really helps a leader work upon their strengths whilst helping them to unleash their full potential. Executive coaching is ideally suited for busy managers and directors who want support that can revolve around their busy diaries.

• Help “high flyers” - a coach can help provide extra “risk free” guidance to younger fast-track executives who have ability but may lack some hands-on experience which comes typically with time.
