We all know that one of the most dangerous industries in the world today and is exposed to a lot of occupational hazards is the construction and electrical industry. There is an endless list of occupational hazards that we make with regards to this industry. Most workers in this industry have to work in high places therefore it is imperative that their protection is prioritized.

Workers can get knocked off from their platform anytime during their work when strong winds push them over. They can lose their balance due to sudden earthquakes. The end result of either situation is that they will fall as a natural law of gravity. All of these factors compromise the safety of the workers. This is the reason why the protection system has been innovated.

These safety issues are also the reason why there are many sets of rules and policies that the government has provided the general population in order to reduce the incidence of injuries, accident and other mortalities caused by falling. One of the most common safety measures applied into the construction and electrical industry is the installation of fall restraint system.

Fall restraint systems are mandated by the government to all employers so that they can guarantee that their workers are adequately protected from occupational hazard. There are a lot of safety equipments available in the market today for the construction industry to use such as safety lines, anchors, guard rails, safety nets and even personal harness.

All of the mentioned equipments make up what we collectively known as the fall restraint. They function differently from each other but they all offer the same protection and it is to prevent workers from falling dangerously and fatally. The safety nets for example act as a barrier between the workers and debris from falling to the ground. As well as prevent harming the people who are passing by under.

The fall restraint systems are safety equipments designed to guarantee both workers and tools' safety. Since the release of such systems in the market today, the percentage of having fall-related accidents in construction sites have significantly decreased.

The experience in the construction industry indicates that fall exposures are among the easiest, but at the same time the most difficult to control. Many conditions that lead to accidents are controllable and can be simple to address. But, this awareness is only one-half of the equation, because the construction industry has accepted these exposures as "trivial and part of the job" for many years. Eliminating fall exposures requires a paradigm shift within the workers, employers and industry.
