Hobbies Can Become Stay at Home Jobs

Of all the stay at home jobs out there, the most potentially lucrative and most satisfying is monetizing your hobbies.  It’s also the safest transition from working the 9-to-5 at an office to working at home.  After all, if you’re going to spend your off time doing your hobby anyway, you can easily start monetizing it on the Internet without quitting your job just yet.

How you monetize your hobby depends largely on what it is.  If you’re a little leery of doing the full work of setting up your web page, doing all the SEO necessary, the first thing to think of is if you can sell it on eBay or another similar site.  It’s a humble beginning, but it can potentially make it to where you can spend less time at work and consider the next step.

Selling things on eBay is, ultimately, small potatoes compared to what you can accomplish on the Internet.  It may also be that your hobby isn’t easily monetized on eBay.  Some hobbies are more readily monetized by having your own website.

Let’s say, for instance, that you’re an obscure amateur artist.  eBay would not be a good starting point for you.  Here’s why:  eBay is an auction site.  If you had art by a well-known, popular artist, you could easily get a great bid on it.  However, it’s highly unlikely that anyone is going to look for your name.

Instead, you can learn how to do search engine optimization and Internet promotion.  Then you can create your own gallery website, and “pimp it” yourself.  If you can effectively get ranking for your gallery, all of your art is out there, ready to be viewed and purchased by buyers.  The great thing is that you can name your own price.

Ultimately, the goal of monetizing your hobby is to have your own website.  It’s the most potentially profitable way of making money doing what you love.  It’s all a question of when you’re ready for it.

By: David E. Cecere | 04/07/2009 | Online Business
The biggest mistake many people make about making money on the Internet is that they don’t monetize their products to their full potential. While having multiple products is a great thing to have multiple income streams, there’s much more to having multiple income streams and making money on the Internet than just that. Much more. Affiliate marketing is an excellent second income stream. There’s no such thing as a truly passive income source, but this comes close. You will have to maintain

However, there are quite a few ways that an affiliate program can go badly. Here are just a few of them: • Throwing up an affiliate links website. This just does not work. It's bad SEO. Among the most frequently advertised types of Internet jobs you’ll see are the "work-from-home data entry" jobs. You see them all the time in your spam box, no doubt.
