He says "Team members who are not genuinely open with one another about their mistakes and weak spots make it impossible to build a foundation for trust."

A third facet of a healthy team is the presence of a clear and compelling challenge.
Katzenbach and Smith, in their important book The Wisdom of Teams, prove decisively that a group with a clear challenge usually becomes a very stong team, while a group without a challenge never becomes a team.
There is a very good chance that if your workplace team is uninspired and sluggish, it is because they do not have a challenge set before them that they care about.
The bottom line is this- if the team commander can't articulate what the team's challenge is, then most likely the group has no such challenge; and it will never perform as a team until the challenge is made. Use this tool to evaluate your team quickly and effectively.
