How To Start Up A Business And Become Your Own Boss

You can be your own boss all it requires is a good idea, knowledge and some hard work.  For entrepreneurs it is all about practically establishing a business venture. Business is an activity of making, buying, selling or supplying things for money with profitable returns. Generally, the primary motive of setting most business is to make profit beside other motives such as charity, popularity, acquisition of power and so on.1 Irrespective of the motive, the ultimate goal is to succeed in it. On the other hand, work has been defined by J. T. akinmayowa “as those activities which require some degree of mental and physical effort from people and in turn can provide some degree of psychological and/or make material reward for people”.1 This definition reveals that work irrespective of the level require the application of effort by the individual and the use of capacities which he possess. At the same time such a job must satisfy the workers needs, that is, all jobs have two component: the input of the worker and the reward,  were such is absent then there is disengagement.
Disengagement is an event having the capability of bringing about a change in the lifestyle of a person acting as either positive or negative motivators.2 When people are disengage from their jobs Work is anticipated with loathing and apathy, becoming a daily grind, slowly making their moral suffer, and what was enjoyable is not anymore. Disengagement irrespective of  the form, occur regardless of job, the salary or the type of work and may cause some persons to experience physical and emotional issues, few become depressed or anxious while others spend their time looking for another job or trying to become an entrepreneur venturing in to new business.2 One such person is Tuoyo Lily Williams a disengaged staff of the Milestone pharmaceuticals were she was their sales executive.
Tuoyo Lily Williams is the director of Greenland pharmaceuticals, a new pharmacy with a difference. Tuoyo holds a Masters of pharmacy degree from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. After which she was employed and have spent twenty years working at Milestone pharmaceuticals, Denmark rising to the position of sales executive. But her dream was one day to own a pharmaceutical company having original over-the-counter drugs and proprietary medicine on sales and dispensing of medicines properly.  Thus, even though her job came with big pay cheques, authority and influence, Tuoyo said she left her job because she had a feeling of doing a halfhearted job and that you can’t look forward to anything. She suddenly realizes that the work isn’t interesting as it used to be and there is little sense of pleasure in daily tasks. The sense of accomplishments which she once felt dwindled and there appears to be no reason to do anything with gusto. In 2007, she took the plunge, resigning from her senior position at Milestone pharmaceuticals, Denmark to relocate to Nigeria to make her dream become reality.
She however, found time from her busy timetable to chat with me on steps involved in starting a new business and every moment is bringing her close to the level she is aiming to achieve.
