If you are looking for information on companies conducting college recruiting at your college career fair, then look no further than the UGROWU website, where you will find plenty of detailed information on any number of companies in the market.
Every year, almost every college holds a college career fair designed to attract companies to perform college recruiting drives on the college grounds. This forms part of any college's advertising campaign, so that they are able to show students that they stand a good chance of getting hired right out of college if they are able to catch the eye of a recruiter at the college career fair. The other aim is, of course, to help students find out more about possible career paths and help them get noticed by potential employers even before they graduate from college. For intelligent and well-prepared students, the day of their college's college career fair could be the day they find their perfect career option.
Your college career fair can really be an excellent venue to get noticed by companies and secure summer internships or even job offers. In order to do that, however, there are a few key rules that you must follow in order to impress recruiters and show them that you are not just the average college student, but someone who understands that college is a stepping-stone to a career.
First and foremost, you need to be prepared. This does not mean simply getting enough sleep the night before, although that is important as well. Being prepared for college career fair day means doing research on the various companies who will be represented there, and finding out everything you can about what they do, the industry they operate in, what their business is, their profit margins, expected revenues for the year, and everything other piece of information you can lay your hands on.
The most important effect of all this research will be that you know each and every company coming to your career fair inside and out. This will help you narrow down the list of companies that you might be interested in and that might be interested in you. These companies should have some relation to your course of study, and also to your own personal interests. It is only when this criteria is fulfilled do you stand the best chance of making a lasting impression on recruiters.
College recruiting is always a messy business, and often, you will not have nearly as much time as you might want when talking to a recruiter. This is another reason why you have to be prepared. You should prepare a list of intelligent questions beforehand, that will show that you are intelligent and not seem as if you are merely sucking up to the recruiter.
Another excellent tip to follow is to have copies of your resume prepared for companies that are performing college recruiting. This way, instead of having to tell a recruiter your qualifications, you can simply give it to them on paper. Each copy of your resume should also include your contact information, just in case a particular college recruiting company wishes to invite you to apply for an internship or perhaps even a job opening.
And the last thing to remember when facing the college recruiting bonanza is to stay calm and relaxed. The moment you become flustered or nervous, you will lose your focus and recruiters will be able to tell immediately that even a simple college recruiting fair can make you anxious.
