In a bid to make SMEs in India aware of the benefits of in-office printing (especially colour printing solutions), Hewlett-Packard India (HP-India) is reaching out to various SME-dominated sectors such as retail jewellery, manufacturing, hospitality and advertising. For this, HP has launched a new programme known as Colour Matters.
“This initiative undertaken by HP-India is really praiseworthy. Increasing awareness among Indian SMEs about the relevance of ‘colour component’ in their business strategy will help the HP colour LaserJet printer to achieve a sustainable market,” says Nilanjan Pathak, director of Neelhard Corporation, a small-sized IT firm in Kolkata.
HP research
Cost-effectiveness prompts majority of small firms in India to outsource their printing needs. While doing so, they actually lose a lot. This is because printing marketing collaterals, including itineraries and brochures, in colour within the office can help companies save as much as 25% over a period of 3 years, apart from building their technical efficiency, says a HP research. The research further added that readability of colour documents and collaterals is 80% more than that of black and white ones.
Other benefits
Moreover, HP colour LaserJet printer offers other benefits to SMEs. The printer allows to take black and white printouts from it, thereby facilitating the SMEs to save cost and space by eliminating the need to have two printers in the office. The printer is packed with tools like colour access control, which enables the IT team to restrict colour printing to certain users, thereby minimising waste.
“In the wake of stiff global competition, Indian SMEs have already developed the urge to be tech-savvy and such SME-focused benefits will definitely lure the small firms towards installing the HP colour LaserJet printer,” says Rohan Shah, manager at Alkapuri Hotel, a budget hotel group in Vadodara. Mr Shah further added that colour printing in the hospitality sector can attract much more tourists as these printers give the option of personalising customer communication.
To promote the printer and to educate potential customers, HP-India is organising a demo facility in 15 cities across India and educational workshops in 25 cities across the country.
