New Construction in NJ or Bathroom Remodeling?
Since acquiring my new house in Long Valley, New Jersey my parents have been constantly debating the need for a new construction in this NJ house or a small remodeling project. I have managed to secure this dirt cheap property with my own savings but unlike other houses in the area, mine needs a lot of improvement.
I'm not a big spender so a bathroom remodeling in NJ is really the least of my priorities at the moment... but honestly, part of me gets so excited at the idea of a kitchen remodeling; New Jersey homes, after all, are famous for elegant kitchens integrated with exquisite countertops and cabinets. How I wish I could fork out a chunk of cash for a beautiful kitchen so I'd always be in the mood to whip up French cuisine for my family, but unfortunately the roof needs more attention right now.
According to the previous owner of this house, since Hurricane Bertha hit the state, he had never considered a renovation. He worked a little around the house but traumatized by that sad event, he opted to live with his children in Pennsylvania and abandon what has become his home for 27 years.
From the looks of it, the roof of my house will need a major repair. My best friend who just lives nearby tells me she knows of a first-rate roofing company in New Jersey that can finish the job in a jiffy. What with hardly visible shingles, a swinging gutter and a barely there siding, that company which New Jersey residents consider the best there was, the best there is and the best there ever will be better not back out on me.
Over the weekend, I stayed at my parents' house yesterday my friend took me to the office of the roofing company she was talking about. As soon as we got there, I immediately requested pictures of houses that they've recently worked on. The attending staff gave me a thick album and I was not expecting so much as I started to turn the pages. I was barely through the second page though when I felt my jaw drop, as the images before me were those that I would only normally see on the big screen. These are amazing houses, I said to myself. The pessimist in me, however, whispered I couldn't afford it. I was just about to return the album to the guy on the desk when my friend asked for a quotation for a roofing service so he had to walk into an office.
As soon as he came out and handed us the quotation, lo and behold, I wanted the project to start immediately!
