Six Sigma Training- Implementing Six Sigma In The Small Workplace

Posted: Feb 17, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

The actual implementation of a Six Sigma Process might actually prove to be more of a challenge than determining what the process will be used on or how Six Sigma Training can impact your business. Knowing the different aspects of Six Sigma can always aid with implementing the programs, but it's really best to start by knowing your team, knowing the organization, and figuring out how the two can best work together to create a positive outcome from the processes involved. When it comes to smaller operations, it might seem like Six Sigma is too big for your business, but it doesn't have to be that way.

Corporations and Conglomerates can use Six Sigma Training all they want. Just because they do doesn't make it any less relevant or useful to your smaller organization no matter what your intended use is. If anything, you will be better able to understand your culture better and work with employees to facilitate the acceptance and promotion of changes and improvements in the workplace than a larger company would.

The actual effect and nature of Six Sigma Projects will vary depending on the organization that is working with this method, but rarely has anything to do with size. A company that profits $200,000 a year can just as easily implement Six Sigma to improve their profits by 15% as a company that profits more than $2 billion a year.

The Six Sigma Methodology is scalable, which means that it can be made to fit any size of business or any type of problem, no matter how big or small it may be. A tiny Six Sigma Process in a smaller company can still yield impressive results and might even offer a better improvement than a large-scale project at a Fortune 500 company. While your resources might be more limited as a smaller company, your agility beats theirs any day. You will be more results focused and flexible than larger companies because there is less involved in the actual Six Sigma process for you.

Implementing Six Sigma Training in a small workplace is not impossible. It is actually much easier than many people think, and can be much simpler than it is for larger companies, even. There is no guarantee that any business will be successful in their Six Sigma Projects, but smaller businesses stand just as good of a chance as large businesses, if not better.

Lean is a management philosophy, with supporting tools and techniques to run a business much faster, cheaper better.
