Some Do's and Don't in Color Brochure Printing

In order to create an impact on your prospective clients, the first thing you need to do is to impress them. And what better way to impress them than to present your company by printing color brochures. This is a fact in business that cannot be denied: an effectively designed brochure is what will spell the success of your business. Match that with full-colored printing and you will see a company that soars on the heels of successfully creating a good impression.

When the Internet became a way of life, many businessmen thought they'd be seeing the end of paper brochures. Thus far, it has been proven that there is nothing more off-the-course than this belief.

The Skinny On Brochures

Brochures are typically available in standard sizes of 8.5 x 11, 8.5 x 14, and 11 x 17, although these can be folded further to smaller sizes. There are different kinds of brochures and there are special brochures like product sheets, sell sheets, statement stuffers, tri-fold brochures, note cards and rack cards.

Having them printed in color is only one side of the whole package of brochures. In order to come up with high-quality, professional brochures, you also need to come up with a well-thought professional design. Here are some questions to help you get started:

1. Why are you printing the brochure? What purpose will it serve? You can have so many answers to these questions, putting them all on paper will certainly help. The size of the brochure is practically dependent on how copies will be distributed. Will the brochures be fitted to a card rack? Will they be sent out like a self-mailing envelope? Will they be used in presentations?

2. What content will you put on the color brochure? Who will write them? If you are very confident of your writing skills, you can write the content on your own, or you could hire the services of a very good copywriter. Be sure that you can see the glimpse of your messages at the front and back side of your brochure.

3. What color will you use on the brochure? What images and artwork will impressively match with the color? In deciding the size of your brochure, you also need to make an allowance for images.

Choosing the Printer

In choosing a printer, it is always good to ask for samples of previously done printing jobs. Always, choose the printer that will give you the best quality that your budget allows.

Determining the number of copies to be printed is dependent on the information you put in. If you have information depending on time or occasion, like the price for the Christmas holidays, then request for copies that will last you through the period. Do not print in excess.

If time-bound information is not indicated on your brochure, then you may order the maximum number of copies your finances permits. Speaking of printers, the more copies you get printed, the price per unit is much cheaper.

There is not much difference in the total cost of printing 10,000 copies and printing 12,500 copies. But if you divide the total cost by the total number of copies, the per piece cost of printing 12,500 copies would be much cheaper.
