Self-management is an important part of architects’ job. It refers to methods, strategies and skills that can help an individual to achieve the aim including goal setting, planning, scheduling and etc. The idea of self-management is supported by the social theory.

1) The assessment system, including systematic data gathered to evaluate the architect’s effectiveness.
2) Target setting, which helps to set specific goals and plan it.
3) Monitoring process, by which a manager can control the effectiveness and quality of architects’ plans.
4) Assessment of architect’s results, which is a dominant method for effectiveness enhancing of the management techniques.
5) Written contract signed by the both interested parts that presents an agreement which specifies plans, architect’s rights and responsibilities and the employer’s expectations of the project.
6) Maintenance that is a test of the effectiveness of management training. To avoid different problems the self-management can help.
