Surefire Quick Ways to Increase Vending Sales

1. More Machines
The more machines you put out in the field, the better your asset will work to add cold hard cash to your pockets. It may sound simple, but this is a huge point. Get those machines out of storage and get rid of that 10% return on your investment.

2. Change your product
Experiment on the products you vend. Try a different candy or change the gum to a candy choice. Try toys instead of the usual gumballs and candy if it is a place frequented by young kids.

3. Re-evaluate your route
Pull the lowest 10-20% of your machines and redeploy them in brand new accounts. Dome of those machines may bring in $30, $50, or $1000 per servicing. Re-evaluating your route is the first step towards increasing vending profits.

4. Find a new area
Go to new areas. Consider going to a town a little further out with less competition.

5. Different business type
Go to different types of businesses and put your vending machines there. Try restaurants or other businesses that you might not initially consider as being good locations for your vending machines. You might be surprised at the success of non-traditional places.


6. Freebies
Everybody loves free stuff. Give away freebies! Take a small 5 oz. drinking cup with you to give away free product samples to employees. You'll be surprised with what this will do for you. In fact, it's a Biblical principle at work – Give and it shall be given unto you!

7. Clean machines
See to it that your machines are always kept clean. A customer will rather buy from a clean machine than a trashy and grimy looking one. Especially for vending machines that offer food and products for kids.

8. Poll
Poll the business. Don't assume that you know everything that there is know with what your customers like. Go ahead and ask.  It only takes one or two people to support a machine and make it a good "bread and butter" account.  Better to salvage an account by changing your product than having to go out and find a new one.

9. More choices
Add more choices to existing accounts. This means adding machines where you already have a gumball or candy machine. Don't forget to consider adding toys as an option besides candy and gumballs. Bouncy balls can be a cheap alternative at around 4-5 cents per vend for the cheaper general mix balls.

10. Building relationships
Work on building relationships with employees and owners. This isn't that hard to do. Greet them immediately when you walk in to service your machines. Be warm and friendly even if you don't feel like it. If they like you, it will influence which machine they buy from if you have competition in the business. Learn to socialize and market yourself.

11. Study
Read on books about increasing sales.  This goes back to treating your machines like a business. Real businesses have to focus on sales. Study how to makes sales from people who have mastered the art of selling. It's not about the products as much as learning how to present yourself couple with the product.
