Only a couple of decades ago if you were in the market for high quality tools there were really only some four or five names that you had to choose from. There were discount tools available back then but the quality of the metals and plastics that was used in their manufacture was far too often substandard.
Back then it was impossible to find replacement parts such as triggers for them and many times standard blades and bits didn't fit correctly in them. This meant that back then if you purchased a discount tool, it far too often ended up in the scrap pile in a matter of time. Times have changed and so have discount tools. Now there are far more choices in tools and you don't have to pay out the big money when you go shopping for high quality tools.
They now are made with high quality plastics and metals and all of the standard parts such as blades adapt right in. With the cost of name brand tools shooting through the roof it makes more sense then ever to take a close look at discount tools whether you are shopping for tools for personal use or for commercial applications.
There are now more choices then ever in discount tools and no matter what type of tool you are in need of you can save loads of money with discount tools. For instance a name brand circular saw or “skillsaw” can now run you over two-hundred dollars, while the same saw from a discount manufacturer can be had for around forty bucks.
Discount tools are far less prone to theft, which is a problem that every contractor has to deal with. If there is a tool that you only need occasionally such as a transit level or concrete drill then it only makes good sense that a discount tool would be your logical choice.
