Criticism: Network marketers take advantage of needy people by leading them to believe they can get rich quickly.

The truth is that the MLMers who go on about how easy it is to make a fortune in the industry are also among the few that have actually done so. Lucky them, right? But no one should look at a network marketing opportunity as a "get rich" scheme or think it will work without them putting in a lot of time and effort. Have some people become rich very quickly with network marketing? Yes. Is it the norm? No.
