The Secrets of Buying Wholesale Merchandise

Many people who I have talked to about how to purchase wholesale are frustrated with the same issue. It's not that they can't find a good product to sell, but when they have found a top product or a reputable wholesale distributor....

they are discouraged to learn the hard lesson that the same product is actually already selling on eBay for less! They may not even be able to break even, let alone make a profit!

Here is an e-mail I received from a frustrated person who wanted to make a profit with wholesale merchandise....

I have found a good product that I want to sell on eBay. But I can't seem to find anyone to give me real information on how to make a profit with it. I don't need another "buying guide" that just lists a bunch of products that are already saturated in the market.

Seriously, I've had numerous correspondences with people just like you dealing with the frustrations of product sourcing. I totally understand as I've been there. I had the same problem when I first started out. I scoured the internet, called all over the country looking for legitimate wholesale suppliers for profit on eBay. Every time I thought I found something great, it was going to be too difficult just to make my money back if I sold on eBay. There were already too many of them being sold for far less than what I could get them for.

That will put a dent in your wallet!

My answer to these e-mails is: Don't give up - you can still make money on the back end even if your initial sale is not profitable!Many people think that the only way they can make money is on the initial sale. This could not be further from the truth.

Many people also ask, how is your information different from all the wholesale guides or wholesale list out there?

There are several things that cause frustrations with these lists. Most "wholesale lists" are put together by someone doing a Google search, and writing down url's. They call it a product and sell it to you. Lists like these are usually just middlemen who rob you of profits by hiking up the price of the products.

Even though these might really be legitimate wholesale liquidators, most people do not understand the fact that there is quite a difference between wholesale, liquidation and surplus merchandise. This is a common misunderstanding, but it is a very important point to learn the difference if you plan to be successful  in the game.

Most of the people successfully selling on eBay are actually selling liquidated or surplus stock, not wholesale product. There is a big difference. A difference you need to know about.

If an eBay seller is selling wholesale items, they are probably making all their profit on the backend. It is way too hard to compete with those who are selling the same thing at below wholesale prices. They can sell the same item for less than wholesale because they are not selling wholesale products! They are usually selling surplus stock or liquidated items.

Quite a few people end up quitting because they did not have this information before they began. I have used this information and been quite successful selling full time on eBay. You can make a profit if you do things correctly. Unfortunately, if you don't you can end up losing your shirt!

I know it can be frustrating and disappointing, but don't give up. It can be done!
