Winter Haven, located in the heart of Polk County, is home to roughly 30,000 people which makes it one of the largest cities in the county. This county is one of the most rural counties in the state of Florida and is distinguished by its rolling hills and 45 fresh-water lakes connected in Florida's Great Chain of Lakes system. The city is graced with sunshine all year and appeals to those who love nature, the outdoors, and quiet country living.

Winter Haven is the perfect place to visit, move, or retire because of its convenience to both Tampa and Orlando (it's situated about half way in between both major cities), its scenic atmosphere, and proximity to all the major theme parks. The city is also the home to Florida's first theme park, Cypress Gardens. Cypress Gardens isn't just a theme park with thrill rides, though. Yes, it has thrill rides, but it also contains beautiful botanical gardens as well as a water park. Living here you are just an hour away from the major theme parks in Orlando, which makes it the perfect vacation getaway for those not wanting the hustle and bustle of theme park vacations.

For nature lovers, the city is also the home to the historic Bok Tower Gardens. Residents and visitors have access to all the fresh water lakes and can attend one of the many ski schools in the area. The area is the home of the Chain of Lakes Trail, a 3.2 mile long trail that can be used for walking, running, cycling, or even just a leisurely stroll with your pet. For the golf lovers, the Willowbrook Municipal Golf Course is perfect for golfers of all skill levels.

Winter Haven isn't just a nature lover's paradise or a place to relax after a day at the theme parks; it's also a destination for those interested in aviation. Fantasy of Flight is located just a few miles outside of Winter Haven and is the home to over 40 very rare and completely restored airplanes that are ready for exploration. It also hosts a variety of flight simulators that can bring out the pilot in you. Weather permitting; they also host an aircraft of the day demonstration that lets you see first hand just how powerful these machines really are.

Want to own your own Florida real estate? Winter Haven is the perfect place to live, visit, or retire for nature and historic lovers alike. Located on the Great Chain of Lakes, this slice of heaven appeals to boaters, water skiers, and those who love the Florida sunshine. Visitors and residents alike enjoy perfect weather all year long with average temperatures from May to October in the upper 80's and from November to April in the lower 70's. Whether you're considering relocating here for its close proximity to the theme parks, its scenic living, or its golf courses and retirement living, Winter Haven has everything needed for an enjoyable lifestyle.

Vacuum Cleaners - Getting the Best Buy for Your Money
By: Chuck Lunsford | 19/03/2008 | Business
Believe it or not the very first vacuum cleaner was drawn door-to-door by a team of horses. A janitor in Canton Ohio a couple years later (possibly tired of the extra cleanup brought on by the horses) cobbled together a device using a fan motor, soap box, broom handle, and a pillowcase. He later patented his device and sold one of the first ones to his cousin... William H. Hoover.
