Giorgio Armani is proud to announce the introduction of his new limited-edition collection of fine writing instruments: Giorgio Armani Pens. The first series is the “Regal” Collection: a style which is calculated and knowing, designed with a deliberate recovery of a formal elegance drawn from the past but projected into the present. The new Giorgio Armani writing instruments will be sold individually and in special-edition complete sets. The Giorgio Armani “Regal” Collection will be available from June 2008.

Available worldwide in Giorgio Armani boutiques and Tibaldi authorized pen dealers, each pen is detailed with Giorgio Armani’s “GA” initials on the end of the pen cap as well as on each fountain pen’s rhodium-and-ruthenium-plated solid 18K gold nib. Giorgio Armani “Regal” pens will be presented in rollerball, ballpoint, and traditional fountain models. Each writing instrument stately captures the essence of etiquette in the indelible art of writing by uniting the very best historical traditions and combining them with modern technological advancements in design.

Using only the highest quality materials to render a pen of superb craftsmanship, each Giorgio Armani “Regal” pen is hand turned by skilled artisans to imbue each barrel with a stunning one-of-a-kind rippled effect onto which nine layers of translucent enamel are carefully applied by hand. The brilliant finish guarantees a superlative feel when being drawn across fine parchment.

To help create this spectacular series of writing instruments, Giorgio Armani enlisted the support of heralded Italian pen maker Tibaldi. Founded in 1916, Tibaldi implements classical techniques used by the very first watchmakers in the 16th century and incorporates them into their numerous pen designs.

This collection will be limited to 199 numbered pieces of each writing instrument and presented in either a natural or ruthenium plated sterling silver trim. Giorgio Armani “Regal” pens will be available individually or as part of a deluxe package featuring ink, envelopes, and special Giorgio Armani letterhead set in a handcrafted black lacquered box. The series of Giorgio Armani “Regal” pens represent a renaissance in the romantic art of writing.
