1) Don't just sell a product - sell your company and a lifestyle.
2) Passion for the product trumps most other components. Show your passion for your products and services. Show an urgency to use them.
3) Develop a community for your customs. Use Facebook and newsletters to get your customers engaged with each other. If they know they are not alone as your customer they will grow in loyalty.
4) Keep it simple. Less is more. Is there anymore to say about this?
5) Be authentic. Don't embellish your services or overstate your product's benefits. People see through this and appreciate honesty. It helps build trust.
6) Go green. Polls have shown that 85 percent of U.S. households would consider switching brands based on their sustainability practices.
7) Explore new creative opportunities for your business. Connect with new people who have different capabilities.
8) Leverage trends to create exciting new and relevant products and promotions. Have you noticed all the advertisements for Green products?
9) Make marketing about what you know, not just what you think. Express your knowledge and communicate it to your customers.
10) Transfer ownership of an idea. If someone believes that something is their idea they will take it and run with it. Don't just advertise to buy your product. In your advertising and marketing express how your services or product makes the customers life better.
11) Make demographics meaningful, beginning with the knowledge of your customers.
After reading these tips take each one and write an explanation that would fit your business. This will become your marketing action plan or MAP to success. I have begun to implement these tips in my business and have started to see positive results.
