There are not too many people here on Earth who would not love to amass wealth. In fact, many people are willing to jump through hoops and bend over backwards to do just that. Unfortunately, there are unscrupulous money grubbers who take advantage of the people looking to obtain financial success. These cretins concoct pie-in-the-sky stories and sell them as truths. If you do not want to be one of the people who end up buying a nonexistent bridge, you need to understand a few things.
The Cold-Hard Truth
Yes, there are a few people who make millions without even trying. The odds of that happening are more than a million to one. Chances are there is not going to be the lawyer of a long-lost relative knocking on your door with a million-dollar inheritance and you probably are not going to pick the winning lottery numbers in this lifetime. If you want to make a dollar, you can easily do so. However, if you want to make a million dollars you are going to have to work a million times harder than the person who only makes one. The fact of the matter is, there is no such thing as a free ride. If you want something in life, you have to work for it.
Getting Rich Quick
There are many who would like you to believe that it is possible to get rich quick. In fact, there is many a home business opportunity being touted as a key to instant wealth and success. If someone is telling you that a home business is going to make you millions in a matter of months, they are selling you a trip to the moon. It is not going to happen and if you invest in such an opportunity, you are wasting money that would be better spent elsewhere.
No Work, Easy Money
In addition to selling get-rich-quick schemes, many con artists will tell you there are ways of getting rich without having to work for it. Theoretically, you give them your cash, they give you a turn-key home business and somehow money starts flying towards you without you having to lift a finger. Again, it is not going to happen.
Why in the world would someone give you money for doing nothing? If it was really possible to get all this cash by doing absolutely nothing, wouldn't they be keeping all the money for themselves instead of giving it away to others? No matter how pretty they paint the picture or how much sense they seem to make out of their nonsense, always remember that a legitimate home business takes time and work in order to be successful.
Commit the Crime, Do the Time
A few home business owners have been frustrated to find out that the home business they invested in was a scam. They lost a few hundred dollars (or sometimes a few thousand) and learned a valuable lesson. Other home business owners find themselves in trouble with the law for falling for a home business scam that wound up being nothing but outright fraud.
Let's say you get an email from someone saying they are going to pay you ten percent of every sale they make if you would just process their Paypal transactions for them. They have way too many orders and not enough time. Each week they are making $50,000 in sales and if your home business will provide them with payment processing services, you will make $5,000 a week just for a few hours of computer work. Two-hundred-and-sixty thousand a year for less than 40 hours of work a week? Who would pass that up? You agree and start processing the payments.
One day there is a knock on the door. It is the police. It appears you are being arrested for Internet fraud. See, you have been processing all these payments but the customers who have been paying you have not been getting the products they ordered. Suddenly you can not get hold of the people you were processing payments for and it looks like you are in serious trouble.
Sure, eventually you explain the entire scenario and you are able to prove you were sending all the money (less ten percent) to the people you were processing payments for. That does not prove you were not in on the scam and you are going to have a lot of legal fees and court time ahead of you.
Want to avoid this scenario? If something sounds too easy or too good to be true, run in the other direction. When it comes to home business opportunities, you can not believe everything you are told and you need to cross every "t" and dot every "i" to ensure you do not pay serious consequences for mistakes you never meant to make.
