There are millions of people who wish they could make money online and do not have to work anymore or at least make extra income while keeping their day jobs. Out of these millions of people, many will definitely start one and will make money online. It is either they make big income or small income. However, there will be also many more who will fail their online businesses even before they get the business rolling because they started in the wrong path.
The wrong path meant here is they started the online businesses before understanding the basic fundamental concepts of starting an online business. There are 3 main fundamentals one need to understand and focus on.
Understanding The Market Demand and Business Models
Many people jump into online business because they see or hear others making money online easily. Therefore, they would like to do the same without considering either will they like how the business will be operated and do they have the knowledge to support the business model used. Anyone who wants to start an online business must see the market demand of their product/service which going to be offered to the mass market. It is highly recommended they focus their business on something which interest them, so that the flow of the business and product/service which they going to sell will not bore them easily.
Using the correct business model is another crucial aspect. Base on ones ability, he/she must use the right business model to make the business long lasting and relevant the his/her interest. For example, Alice who loves to write about her vacations trips around the world could start to write a blog/website explaining interesting places to go for vacation. Within the website, she could have Google adsense ads and promoting affiliate programs concerning hotel rooms and flights. These two business models are proven to generate tons of money for other website owners, and furthermore they compliment Alice's website. Alice does not have to physically sell anything, and she just have to do what she loves that is traveling and writing about it in her website. The business models used will just compliment her interest, yet makes money for her.
Building A Website/Blog
Many people thinks online business means running a website. This statement is not entirely true, because certain business model such as affiliate marketing, survey and many more models can be done without using a website. Therefore, it is highly dependent on the business model that one going to choose prior to starting an online business. If you are a person who wants to use Google adsense business model, then having a website is compulsory. But if you are thinking of affiliate marketing or many other options available, you could op not to have a website.
Generating Traffic
This is known as the number on killer of many online businesses. Traffic is actually like blood in a human body. If you do not have it, you will die. A website which could not generate traffic, will eventually doom to be a failure. Any online business entrepreneur should always and constantly think ways to bring more visitors to his/her website. Generating traffic especially when your site is new could be a daunting task since there are millions of other site in the internet competing for the same visitors. But constant effort and focus will definitely bring traffic.
In conclusion – if one notice the flow of the fundamentals aspect, they are in order. First knowing the target market and business model will direct a person to be focus in what they are doing. Second, the requirement of having a website/blog is depended on the business model used. Third, the need for traffic to bring this target market to the products or services.
