So you consider joining a home based business opportunity, or even joined one already. That's great, but now starts the real battle – you have to promote your home based opportunity and have other people join your team. How do you go about doing that?
Well, here's a list of 7 strategies you can use, online and offline, to promote your business:
1. Newspaper advertising – This is an old method, that still works great today. Think about it: people look for a job or a business in the newspapers. Besides, if you were able to persuade someone who is reading a newspaper to log to the Internet to see your business – than this person is a highly targeted prospect! – just what we want.
You can advertise your website, or a 1-800 number where you give people more details about the business.
2. Drop cards – this is a highly effective, many times neglected method of getting people to your business. Many home businesses will supply you with those drop cards you can print at your home computer or have printed in a professional print shop. Than, all you do is drop these cards at all kinds of places – shops, bars, libraries, the gum, offices, schools and collages, you day job office… just about every place you can think of that has people around it. A few of those cards will be picked up by interested people who will contact you.
3. Post cards – You can get hundreds of postcards printed for you (they will look like the drop cards, but will have a place for a stamp). Then, find a mailing list of business opportunity buyers, and mail them those postcards. You'll note that I said" business opportunity buyers" and not
"business opportunity seekers". That's because buyers buy and seekers waste you time…
4. Pay Per Click advertising – this is an effective online strategy. Bid on terms like "make money from home", "home based opportunity" etc. Try some of the smaller search engines – they cost less.
5. Free report – You can compile a free report in PDF format and start giving it away all over the net. People will treat you more seriously because the PDF will give you an "expert" status. Many more will join your team.
6. Write and distribute articles – Write articles about small businesses and home based income opportunity and distribute them to article directories all over the web. Many of these articles will be reprinted in more online publications, and gain you more exposure.
7. Blogs – you can write a blog, or a few blogs, about the subjects of small businesses and home based income opportunities. Your blog will gain more and more traffic over time and you will have more people to market your opportunity to.
