What is a B2B company?
"B2B" or Business to Business, is a term commonly and exclusively used to describe the electronic commerce transactions between businesses, as opposed to those interactions & transactions between businesses and other groups, such as the business and individual consumers (B2C) or the business and government (B2G). The B2B transactions generally take the form of the automated processes between the businesses or trading partners. A simple example of a B2B transaction is a chicken feed company selling its goods & product to a chicken farm, which is another company. The example of a B2C transaction is a grocery store selling the grain-fed chickens to a consumer.

"Business-to-business" can also refer to all those transactions processed in an industry value chain before the finished product is sold finally to the end consumer. Business to Business Company, can also describe the various marketing activities between businesses, not just the final transactions which result from the marketing, though the term can be used to identify the sales transactions between businesses (also referred to as the "institutional sales").

The volume of the B2B interactions & transactions is much greater than the volume of the B2C transactions. One paramount reason for this is that the businesses have increasingly adopted the electronic commerce technologies in larger numbers than have the consumers. Also, in a typical supply chain there could be many B2B interactions & transactions but only one B2C transaction, as the completed final product is retailed to the end customer.
