It can be hard to know which eBay wholesale products are the best for your eBay business. This is a confusing situation almost all eBay retailers find themselves in, at some point. Not only can it be hard to know which products will sell well, it can be equally hard to find good wholesale suppliers. Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts and the best way to find good suppliers is through trial and error. However, there are some steps you can take to ensure that your error factor is kept at a minimum.

Get in Touch
Getting in touch with a prospective eBay wholesale supplier is of course very necessary. However, it's important to make sure that you get in touch in the right way and that you know how to read the responses you get. For instance, avoid contacting any eBay supplier that offers you an email ID and nothing more. Any legitimate business should have a physical address as well as a land line phone number.

It's also important to call this number up. If you are greeted with a professional response, then you should ask them some generic questions about their products. If you are promptly connected with someone who answers your queries clearly, chances are that they are a legitimate business. If your phone call is answered with a simple ‘hello', it might be a dummy number.


Next, establish your first contact with the potential eBay wholesale dealer. Send an email detailing what you are interested in and asking what the supplier can offer you. Do not be casual or informal in this kind of correspondence. A polite but professional letter will show the dealer that you are serious and you really mean business.
Before sending that email, check out their terms and conditions as well as any FAQs that may be on their website. In many cases, any questions you may have will probably be answered in the company literature. Remember to be courteous. Do not be demanding or start bargaining at this juncture.

Once you've set up a satisfactory correspondence with the eBay wholesale dealer, order a sample shipment. Most suppliers will send you a sample anyway but it's a good idea to order a shipment on your own, preferably under another name. In this way, you can get a real idea of what the product is like in an unbiased manner.

Assess different factors like quality as well as delivery times. At this point in time, it's also important to assess how well the product will sell as well. It might be a great product but if you're not going to be able to sell it well, there is no point in investing in it.

Drive a bargain with the eBay wholesale dealer for a good price. It's better not to be too demanding or curt on your first deal. An experienced supplier is not going to give their best rates to someone new, who may not place another order. The more orders you place with wholesale suppliers, the better your chances of getting better rates. If you're happy with their business, let them know about other plans you have for the future. Any good supplier will be interested in expanding and growing along with their retailers.
