The word has been so overused in this arena of online marketing. Every time you turn around, you see "Be my boss" or something to that effect in your mail. I received one myself today, and it caused me reflect a bit. What does the word Businessman mean to me? Well, the online dictionary definition of entrepreneur is a person who organizes, operates and assumes the risk of a business. Wow! Risk, I suppose so, but definitely worth the reward. I decided when I was a tiny girl that I would have liked to be an Businessman one day. My Father owned a "brick and mortar" business, a flooring business. He started out in his early 20's installing floors, extremely tough work. He and his partner soon opened the doors to their own dream, Northway Floors. One Sat. , when I went to his "store" to earn some money working for Daddy, I was blown away watching him. It was at that awfully moment that I revealed to myself, "I want that when I grow up"!
Though I did do that for 11 years as a Catering Manager (wedding planner) for a high end resort, I was continually searching the ideal opportunity for myself. I missed out on my family's important moments. My house was a mess as were all of my private relations. Then Fri. would roll around and I might see my paycheck. The joy definitely was not there. So often, in my mind's eye, I might see my Father's face beaming, and the will to be my own chairperson would fire up within me again.
Aside from all the plain reasons that it's wonderful being your own boss man, my inducement is helping folk. I am at my best when I'm chatting with one of my clients, sharing my experiences, knowledge and non secular revelations that my mother instilled in me.
Being a business owner allows me pursue other passions,eg volunteering. These are the things you can do with your everyday life when you are an Entrepreneur. Live your dreams, be independent, make a difference, uplift the consciousness of mankind.
