How To Earn Residual Income

I once did an article that spoke about what residual income is and why it's so important to your business and finances. I spoke about how residual income is passive income that rewards you in ways much greater than your efforts. That still holds true even today.

Well today, I'm going go to give you a few methods that will actually show you how to make this happen. The example I'm going to use is what's known as affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is what takes place when one business let's other people sell their product for them for a commission. These days there are special websites dedicated to housing and running these affiliate programs.

These days you don't even need to have contact with the other business to become their affiliate. You can just join a site like Clickbank, pick the product you want to promote and they'll give you a special link to promote your product. They have products ranging from dog training to weight loss to making money programs.

In the past few years there has been a very exciting development. Clickbank has begun to offer digital products that you can promote as an affiliate that offer residual commissions.

The key here is to find products that people will stick with for the long term. If it's an information service like a monthly newsletter there is a good chance that they will only use it for on month and then drop out. If that's the case than using this residual affiliate program is really no better than any other affiliate program. But then we have other products. Products like hosting are products that people will almost never cancel. You are assured to get commissions for that affiliate sale month after month. The only way they could cancel their hosting is if they are willing to shut down their website and their business. This does happen but it is very rare because hosting is not extremely expensive these days.

Generally you can get a hosting account for under $6 per month. So if a website is making even $10 per month it's just not worth it to cancel the subscription.

Another one that may not give you too much of a continuous income is PLR Clubs. It is quite common for people to join a PLR club for a month only to grab a few free ebooks that they can resell and then cancel.
But if you find a good residual income affiliate program you will be in good shape. The key is to always work smarter not harder. Why not work for a sale that will pay you for life with the same amount of work?
